LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION
Our New Zealand range was brought together and given its spirit, through design and collaboration with Ōtautahi born artist, Wiremu Wynyard. Wiremu has worked with traditional tā moko and local whakairo artists, to elevate our NZ line. Displaying inspiration through the connection with our lands. His cultural experiences and detail is portrayed in these 6 pieces.
CARVE
Our Carve rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, captures Maori sand stone art. It opens a window to NZ’s distant past, when nomadic Maori hunters created New Zealand’s earliest artwork.
FANTAIL
Our Fantail rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, incorporates details of the pīwakawaka (Fantail) bird along with
different footprints of NZ’s wildlife, creating an
organic composition of paths.
AVON
Our Avon rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, encaptures the beauty of the Avon river in Christchurch, showing strength. Our colour range also emulates the Kawaru river flowing into Queenstown and the crystal clear waters in Abel Tasman.
KAHA
Our Kaha rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, inspired by limestone and pounamu. A stone found in specific rock water in southern NZ. They are highly valued by the Māori culture. Kaha means strength and the strength of the lands.
KORU
Our Koru rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, inspired by the individual Maori sprial symbol which plays a major part in the overall construction. Hand drawn elements taken from various traditional carvings and traditional art are broken up with subtle but striking colour accents.
TE TUPU
Our Te Tupu rug in NZ wool and cotton viscose, based off a single circle Koru, and the Maori Pikorua, which is typically an S loop shape or figure 8 twist. The Pikorua Maori symbolises the strength of two entities.
