It was 1952 when brothers Eric and Leslie Korda began trading as Korda Brothers Pty Ltd to bring the products and techniques of classic flooring from Europe to the Australian market. As a result of their ingenuity and interest in the niche market of flooring, the foundation was laid for Korda’s continual development in the industry.
Axminster Carpet
Axminster is a heavy duty woven carpet that is a blend of 80% New Zealand Wool and 20% Nylon. It is highly sought-after in hospitality and commercial environments for its durability and low maintenance nature, and is used in hotels, pubs and alike worldwide. It originated in the town of Axminster, England in 1755, and we at Korda pride ourselves in creating custom made, bespoke designs beautifully crafted by our skilled artisans.
Our carpet is produced on state-of-the-art looms, allowing for large quantities, maximum design potential with the possibility of hand carved detailing. We have established relationships with our selected suppliers since 1952, this allows us to ensure the highest quality of our carpets and rugs.

Our New Zealand range was brought together and given its spirit, through design and collaboration with Ōtautahi born artist, Wiremu Wynyard. Wiremu has worked with traditional tā moko and local whakairo artists, to elevate our NZ line. Displaying inspiration through the connection with our lands. His cultural experiences and detail is portrayed in these 6 pieces.
This collection captures the key elements of nature. It consists of organic patterns and geometric shapes to emulate a variety of unique landforms and jewels. The essence collection is a sophisticated and unique addition to one’s home.
